New possibilities of monitoring

Proven but also novel therapies and therapeutic approaches can be monitored with the HSI technology and adapted over time to the patient-specific needs. This is possible because the effects of wound therapy for the first time can be illustrated spatially resolved in images. Statements about the quality of treatment success and about the effect of the individual methods will be possible in the future. At present, the appropriate diagnostic means are often missing.
Possible therapeutic approaches are:

  • Plasma treatment
  • topical oxygen treatment
  • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
  • CO2-Therapie
  • collagen wound dressings

If this is carried out in the course, it is possible to display gradients in diagrams via the measured values. The colors in the diagram correspond to the colors of the markers in the previous image.

It can be seen that the treatment, especially in the wound, leads to an increase in StO2 and NIR values. It also shows that the increase in NIR perfusion is more pronounced in this case.
